Product information “Avalon Impregnation Primer”
Avalon Impregnation Primer is an open-pore primer with film protection against wood-discoloring fungi (blue stain protection) for all absorbent outdoor wooden surfaces. It penetrates deep into the wood and creates optimal contact for subsequent coatings.
Color:
Transparent, slightly milky
Application:
The substrate must be absorbent, clean, dry, sound, and free of grease and dust. Depending on the type of wood and the desired penetration depth, pre-sand the wood surfaces with 100-180 grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain.
Shake or stir the product thoroughly before use. It is important to apply as evenly as possible; this can be achieved with a short-pile roller or brush.
An optimal ambient and surface temperature is between 15°C and 22°C. A beautiful, even surface saturation with good penetration is achieved using the wet-on-wet method: Apply over a large area, wait approximately 20 minutes, carefully smooth over any excess gloss, and apply a second coat of impregnating primer to the dry areas. After approximately 20–30 minutes, thoroughly remove any excess gloss and then allow to dry for 16–24 hours. Repeat this process until the floor no longer absorbs any oil.
Before further treatment with glaze, oil, or varnish, the primed wood surface must be completely dry and no longer absorbent.
Consumption:
Approx. 60–80 ml/m² per coat – may vary depending on the absorbency of the floor.
Drying time:
Drying time is approximately 16–24 hours at 20°C and a humidity of approximately 50%.
Ensure fresh air circulation during application and drying.
Ingredients:
Linseed oil, ricinoleic acid, wood oil, isoparaffins, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, cobalt, zirconium carboxylate, manganese carboxylate, and zinc carboxylate as drying agents.
The VOC content (emission of volatile organic compounds) of this product is max. 425 g/l.
The EU limit is max. 700 g/l (category “f” as of 2010).
Tip/Note:
